In the summer of 2024, four members of our team were given the amazing opportunity to volunteer out in Bali for a charity called Swimdo.
Swimdo aim to reduce the rate of drowning throughout Indonesia and the world, by educating children on the importance of staying safe in an environment where there is water. They work every day to ensure that one day every child in Indonesia will have free access to quality drowning prevention and water safety education.
Since 2015, the charity has taught over 8000 children water safety and has built a team of over 20 local instructors and coordinators to implement these programs.
Our team our fundraising throughout the year, putting on events and volunteering their own time to lifeguard in order to raise money for Swimdo.
In the summer of 2025, more than 10 members of our team have applied to volunteer for Swimdo.

The Volunteering section of a DofE programme is often the most rewarding, uplifting and memorable part of a young person’s DofE adventure. It can, however, sometimes be hard to find a suitable volunteering opportunity for those under the age of 16.
At Splish Splash we help students studying for their DofE from the age of 14.
Roles involve customer care and service and assisting in lessons.
If you would like to take up a volunteering role with us please contact us.

Here at Splish Splash, we believe in giving our swimmers different opportunities throughout the summer in which water can be enjoyed.
Over the years, we have arranged day activities at local open water venues including Cliff Lakes, Bosworth Water Park and Spring Lakes where we have enjoyed the AquaPark, Raftraces, Stand Up Paddle Boarding Lessons, Kayaking, as well as jumping and swimming in lifeguarded openwater.
Staunton Harold Sailing Club has also provided us with taster days, so our Rookie Lifeguards can try something different and that may give them a passion into another sport.
Would like to join us at our next activity day?
We have been extremely lucky over the years to have had past, present and future international swimmers join us at Ashby Pool to give opportunities and meet our young swimmers.
Harriet West, Ex Welsh International Butterfly Swimmer, was our most recent visitor where she attended various Mini Olympics sessions to teach a Butterfly workshop.
